Intimacy is a process – it’s not a thing. Intimacy is sharing feelings- it’s not about facts. Often we are taught to suppress the negative, fear-based stuff that gets in our minds and rattles around in there, the fearful, angry-making feelings that desperately need a place to be expressed. When we are vulnerable enough to share all of who we are, we are being intimate. Therapy can help you strengthen your relationships to:

  • Build communication skills
  • Establish boundaries
  • Understand the past history that informs your patterns of relating
  • Clarify your wants, needs and desires
  • Support you to be yourself
  • Share your warmth

In addition, therapy provides the opportunity to practice sharing all of you – a place where all of those feelings that so desperately need to be expressed can be expressed.
